The Hopkinsville Chapter
Through the efforts of members of the Louisville Chapter of the National Secretaries Association (International), a chapter was chartered in Hopkinsville on June 27, 1965. We started with 19 members. Our chapter was the 5th member of the Kentucky Division.
Our first history was done June 1975. It was written in Memory of Dean Boggess. Our present scholarship is given in her name.
In 1985 we did our second ten year history. Over the years our name changed to Professional Secretaries International. We had several members who achieved the CPS (Certified Professional Secretary) rating during this period.
In 1990 we updated our history in memory of Martha Tucker. She was a member from August 1978 to December 1988, when she had just completed her year as President of the chapter.
In June 2000, we did another Ten Year in Review. This time we dedicated the history in honor of Maudie Buckley CPS who was a charter member since June 27, 1965.
It wasn’t long before we had another name change. This time the name was changed to International Association of Administrative Professionals in order to include all office administrative personnel.
This chapter has been active in Hopkinsville for over 50 years.
